SF Ball 17

11th - 13th February, 2011

The Carrington House Hotel, Bournemouth

Our supported charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust

Money Can't Buy

Here at the SF Ball we endeavour being you unique and rewarding opportunities. Where else can you give to charity and have a chance to win a special piece of Sci-fi memorabilia?

Each year we scour the land to bring you unusual "money can't buy" objects and Ball 17 will be no exception.

SF Ball 16 had the following items:

First Prize a tour for two people around Pinewood Studios hosted by none other than Director Mr John Hough. Upon arrival you'll be greeted by John Hough and a glass of champagne. Then onto a tour of the studio, in part by John the remainder by the studio historian. It may not be possible to see any actual filming due to strict security, but there is always a chance. Then a lunchtime snack with wine, for those not driving, in the famous bar.

Arrival time at studio at 11am and departure time would be around 2pm. Pinewood is not open to the public so this would be a one off chance…!

Mr Hough attended the Reunion 7 convention last year and enjoyed it so much that he has offered this prize.

Second prize straight from the fantasy makers themselves - Industrial Light and Magic. We have been given a crew shirt, signed by all the Visual Effects Directors from the latest Star Trek Movie.

This shirt is a one of a kind prize given with the blessing of George Lucas himself.

Third Prize a splendid piece of retro advertising. This is a Deep Space Nine promotional t-shirt that was made before the show had even been made. The logo on the shirt was never used on the show or in any other advertising.

This piece was donated by Chas Evans from UIP Paramount Pictures inc.
